I'm afraid to check mine. Seeing as you're pretty close to being straight east from me, we probably got a lot as well, sure sounded like it last night.

I'm happy I ain't got a rain gauge. Lol. It's rained some every day since last Saturday. All day the last 3. Uggg. More this afternoon and tomorrow. Kevin in Central AL

Weren't you guys and gals kinda dry over there in the SE? How are your lake levels? Lots of years we rely on tropical disturbances to get what rain we get in the summer.

I don't have a rain gauge , figure I would develope tennis elbow or something having to dump it all the time. Is the water starting to " puddle up" in the south west Ben? I know it is fair to flat where you live, for the most part , we have enough roll that water isn't lying in the fields. But there are new lakes appearing around

Actually they are more acurate and measure down to a hundreth of an inch. The barel of the guage just has to be a lot longer. What I have seen are priced out of my range.

They do that so even if we just get a quarter inch it makes it look like a big rain! But of course the markings are calibrated accordingly.

Exactly like the one i have, easy to read from indoors. As to accuracy, how would one know? Mine has proved weather guessers different many times.

It is a heck of a mess here.....Lots of soil lost, many many deep ponds, wheat and hay flattened, late planted beans will never emerge, roads out , last time it rained this much was in 2000. Ben
