1979 4630 power shift can start plowing tractor pulled perfectly for about 5hours then just stopped stayed idled up was like the transmission just fell out. Shut it off and started back up started pulling perfect again lasted about half an hour then quit again left it alone to cool next day it pulled for an hour then did the same thing. New filters sump screen was clear nothing in it brand John Deere fluid ran for pulled got 4 hours 32 minutes and stopped again does anyone have any ideas

Sounds like what my allis 7040 power shift was
doing last year trans worked for a while and would
just stop pulling. Mechanic split it over winter and
found a snap ring had failed on a clutch pack.
Suggest either put gauges on it yourself or have a
shop do it before anymore damage is done. By the
way my problem resulted in doing a complete
overhaul of the power shift.

You need to check pressures in all gears to help determine the problem. When it quit pulling did you try using a different gear than the one you were plowing with?

Yes the one that comes out with a square drive. If when it stops pulling and you can still operate a
hydraulic function such as raise the 3 point I doubt the screen is your issue. Sounds to me like you
have an intermittent leak somewhere in one of the trans clutch circuits.
