Having trouble with Delco starter on AC 180 Diesel not engaging flywheel.Just brought starter back from Rebuilder.I think Bendix is turning wrong way.Is that possible ?They said they did brushes and fields on rebuild.Bendix is suppose to turn clockwise I think .Is that looking from operators seat or standing at radiator looking back towards rear wheels?

Well if they replaced the fields yes it could in fact turn backwards if they hooked them up 180 out of how they should be

Well, looking from the front of the tractor, most engines turn clockwise right? So if the starter is on the
right or left side of the engine (looking from the front of the tractor), the starter should turn opposite
(or counter clock wise) looking from the front again, which would spin the engine clockwise (I think, I
hope).
