How fast does my MF 231 travel in MPH in 3 rd gear, and in forth, in low range. Any ideas? Stan

Numerous of the apps for your iPhone would be the most accurate you could get and there would be no guessing because of tire diameter etc. Also numerous of the apps are FREE!!

1/4 section x 2 + a stopwatch should give you a pretty good idea.

Tractordata dot com probably has the speeds listed. Google the Nebraska Tractor test for your tractor. Think they gave the speeds in their testing. Operators manual would have it too.

A forty is a quarter mile time how long it takes to go the distance . multiply that by four and you will have a rough idea. A second rough trick is there is roughly four power poles to a quarter mile again multiply. In other words going sixty miles an hour a mile a minute or a quarter mile in 15 seconds.
Or simply get a g.p.s. unit that tells speed a guy i know busted his speedometer and it was simpler and cheaper to get a g.p.s unit

Power poles used to be 300' but after too many storms they decided to go with 250' when replacing down lines. So it would be about 5 1/2 poles to a quarter mile and it would be very hard to find a 40 that is exactly a quarter mile.
