Identifying ferguson to 35 age

Got conflicting info on age of tractor I just purchased. It's to35 ferguson 35 special will link pics below. Any help would be appreciated. Model- To35

1959, starts 185504 to 203197.

Start with the serial number. Even that can be subject to debate since the tag is just secured with screws. There are little details that can narrow down the year, original paint colors, hood latch design, a couple that come to mind.

Casting dates don't mean much, the casting could have been in stock for years before it was used, or the part replaced after the tractor left the factory.

Sometimes the true model remains a mystery, a lot can be changed and mix matched over the years.

Little OT, but one of my finest tractors over the years was about a '69 year model MF 35 with a Perkins 3 cyl diesel. Would still have it if the clutch springs were lighter and it had PS.

I know what you mean about the clutch!

I'm thinking about taking some of the springs out of the TO 35 when it comes clutch time!

That thing will wear your leg out!
