1938 Standard Twin Garden Tractor 5HP

I am trying to sell a 1938 Standard Twin Garden Tractor with accessories for my step father. I do not know where to go to sell it and I have no clue what it is worth.

Still works and has original manuals (serial number 38C4028)

Any help would be appreciated

I sold six of them two years ago when I moved out of central New York. Six Standard Twins, one Viking Twin, one Walsh, and three Standard Monarchs. The most any brought was a good running Twin with a boat-load of attachments and original manuals. That one sold for $700. Many went for $150 each.

I looked at your pictures. That is a real nice collection there. I would say it is worth a good bit more than JDEM stated. I would put the entire unit with attachments more in the $2500-3500 class. It is restored and in emasculate shape.

Try the classified adds here. They are free. Look on the left side of the screen.

I have bought 3 of them in the last 10 years. I paid $75.00 for a running one with no attachments, $50.00 for a stuck parts one with attachments, and $150 for a running one with attachments. I would say if you can get anything north of $500.00 its a good deal. These are one of them machines that I would say appear more valuable than they actually are. They made thousands of them and there are still plenty around.

To each his own. I know quite few collectors that prefer old iron in original condition, rather then painted brighter then it was new. If a Standard Twin ever sells for that much in any condition, I'd love to see evidence of it. I got my first Standard Twin in 1972 and have been around them ever since. 45 years and I think I saw once sell for $1500 once and that was a rare event. If you ever had to actually use one and plow some hard New York muck, you might even lower the value. Here's me and one of mine in 72.

I put it up in the photo ads for 1750$, It's in amazing shape and super clean, however it's in New Brunswick.

Thanks for the help
