White 2-155 fuel solenoid

On a White diesel 2-155, the fuel solenoid has a direct connection to the starter solenoid which is activated by the ignition start switch. But the fuel solenoid also has a 12 volt connection for a 'holding' voltage, which is disconnected when the switch is set to 'off' to stop the tractor. How is the 'holding' voltage wired to the switch, through another solenoid or directly to the 'on' switch? My wiring diagram does not specifically point this out. The wire goes into the wiring harness, which looks like a #10 wire.

Not familiar with the 2-155. However a CIH 8210 (Cummins 8.3) I worked on recently has the fuel solenoid "pull in" coil wired to the key switch STARTER terminal, and the "hold in" coil wired to key switch IGN (or ON) terminal.

Most likely your 2-155 is wired the same.

Bob M has it right, that solenoid has three wires. One ground, one wire for the weaker hold in coil, and one wire for the stronger pull in coil. Starter should activate the pull in, then the hold in takes over when the pull in is off. Solenoid will overheat fast if only the pull in side is used.
