They said it couldn't be done.

I bought a 12 row cult. and hauled it home on nephews car trailer. I had my local dealer lift it off with there pay-loader and the dealer asked me which tractor I was going to pull it with? I answered -my CX 100. He said 'you'll never pull this cult. with that tractor". I said "I bet I will". I drove my tractor in to get it and low and behold, I couldn't lift it. That never crossed my mind. Dealer checked pump pressure and it was right up to specs. So I came back with My Cat and brought it home to figure out what I can do. The pics. below show my solution. I went and bought a lift assist off an old JD. planter. Tractor pulls it just fine. I have not been on the very steep hills of one of my rented farms yet but I can always bump the lift assist up a bit if need to.

Try this again. I don't know when I will ever get this photo thing figured out.

Now you can take out 12 rows at a time instead of 2 like I used to when I wasn't paying attention. LOL

We had an 8 row deere cultivator on the 4020 and I would get to day dreaming and take out 8 rows! Dad called it cultivator blight.

I used a 4 row Buffalo cultivator on a narrow front Farmall 300 with a single lift assist. It looked odd but worked slicker than goose grease. I found that it worked best without the top link and with cylinder blocks on the assist to control the angle of the cultivator.

Use to do lots of road travel hauling grain to market with this tractor. Tire dealer told me they will ware better on road if backwords and I think he is right. But also it works better with front end loader for backing away from pile and backing up hill on a snow covered drive.

I have a John Deere 8 row number 886 that I would make somebody a real bargain on. Even has the ground driven John Blue liquid pump on it to side dress at the same time. Just don't know anybody in this part of the state that cultivates anymore.
