Something to cool you off...

I got MY arms raised and waving!!

I love wintertime. Is amazing how the snow can come and turn everything all white and beautiful. Course, we also don't get the amazing volume and variety of flowers that most of you do in Spring and Summer. Driving down Bluebonnet-laden roads in Texas was amazing, but still think I like the snow better.

HAHA John - Yeah, growing up near Houston, we'd normally get about an inch of snow once every 7 years. If you blinked, you'd miss it!

But as I said, not nearly as much beautiful vegetation way up here as down there. Most widely planted crop here is hay. Most other crops are simply too much risk.

Let's see....the coldest we've encountered here was -50.6F, but that was for a VERY brief time. I stayed up that night as at that time we needed the LP stove on just to keep the inside of the house above freezing!! I went outside to experience that kind of cold. Can't say I'd ever wanna do it again, but -20 and -30 temps are nothing to me now. I rarely put on winter boots anymore unless I plan on being outside for most of the day or plan on walking through some deep snow.

Before my old ankle injury came back with a vengeance, I used to go out with my trusty metal snow scoop (https://michigan-made.com/shop/household-products/silver-bear-snow-scoop/)...(but without the wheels) and spend sometimes 5-6 hours straight out there enjoying the quiet winter nights. I'd wear slip-on shows (uninsulated), a lightweight canvas jacket, winter flap hat, and about 50% of the time not even use gloves. Wouldn't dress warmer till it got below -20F, or was quite windy. It's absolutely amazing how peaceful and quiet it is with snow all around!!

Can't wait for winter to come!
