john deere 567 baler belts

The baler belts from the Deere dealership are twice of the aftermarket ones, are they worth the extra cost and or are they made of the same material? Thanks for any information.

My partner bought some aftermarket belts but we haven't put them on yet. I would guess they probably are made at the same plant if specs are the same. I've been working on a used baler I bought and noticed that some of the sprockets have room to move on the shaft because they aren't shimmed tight. This isn't normal is it? Also, my partner uses bar and chain oil to lube chains. do you think this is sufficient?

I went back with JD belts on my 435. I haven't had good luck with other brand belts but there may be a difference in them too. I've got a couple of original belts on the baler that's had 10,000+ bales in the last 20 years. If the new JD belts last that long , they will out last me.

We absolutely go with aftermarket ones. John Deere dealers are able to extract the prices they charge simply because they can--considering the frenzied, almost mindless popularity of the brand.

I had a NH644 until last year, and it had four of the six original belts when it caught on fire last year. It was 22 years old and had well over 30,000 bales through it. If you bale the right way, any belts will last a long time. The aftermarket belts that replaced the originals still looked like new.

This baler also has a few original belts left on it, it has over 15,000 on it. We probably should have put all new on and used the used ones as spares. The new belts are just a little longer than the old ones
at first, but it seems after you use it for few days they all look the same.

I installed new aftermarket belts on my JD 467 in Dec,2015 that now have over 3000 bales on them that have given no problems. I purchased them at Stewarts in Sherman,Tx.
