Worked a small field with an old 9 ft. disc harrow (P series Oliver disc)with the OC-4 to get the thing worked up and drying out so I wouldn't rut it all up. Been darn near 50 years since we worked any ground with a dozer. Slow work, but I got it worked without rutting it up and most of it was dry enough to seed late this afternoon. Got a few spots to wet to run the drill through. We are going to seed those by hand tomorrow.

I'll probably kick myself for not buying the neighbor's one owner 1600 diesel today. It brought $1600 plus 10%. I was set to go $2000 until a friend told me that when he hauled wagons with it,he had to keep cranking it left to keep it going straight down the road. I got on it. It turned right OK,but wouldn't turn left unless it was moving. Scared me. Might have just been O-rings in the cylinder, might have been much worse and been the hydra motor.

If the steering was the only real problem, then you lost out IMO. Don't think I would have hesitated too much. ...But then I know what it would likely go for in "this" area!

I didn't come home empty handed. I bought this 77 for $20. With that buyers penalty,$1600 was actually 1760. The next bid was 1700. That would have been 1870. They're just not that hard to find around here. The bolt holes were wallowed out in both front wheels. They had washers in one side, the other side was loose.
He had a retirement auction about six years ago. He had two other 1600s. Both gas. One was disassembled. I bought that one for $600. The other one was decent,it brought $1700 with no buyers penalty on that sale. The guy who bought that one had it on a semi annual consignment sale here for a couple of years. It kept bringing right around 16-1700. He must have finally sold it in a private sale deal. I don't need another one. That one would have made number 10 for me.I was just interested because I knew the history of it. I picked up a few other small local trinkets. It wasn't a wasted day.

HAR! The 420 crawler has been getting quite a lot of work here too. Can't get far on rubber in a lot of fields.
