My daughter's mower needed some repair so I stopped by to help out. Got to work with some of the grandkids. This is Tannaka, but her brothers Jordan and Gage were there helping too. Far as I'm concerned there is nothing better than working with grandkids.

Steering wheel removed on a John Deere? Curious what the problem was.

The steering shaft goes through an aluminum housing that got worn out. I fixed it last year by drilling out the housing and putting in a bushing, but the bushing fell out. Didn't have time today to fix it right so I just put it back together so they can mow and I'll have to go back and find a way to get the bushing to stay in the housing.

Jon It is great working with the next generation. Is that mower a JD STX 38 mower??? I may have a good lower steering bracket. I have a barn full of JD parts mowers. Let me know. I can see what I have, free to you and yours.

Thanks, that is what it is. But this mower only needs to make the season and it will do that. It is on it's last legs, engine is weak and the deck is breaking up. She has plans to buy a better one next season. But I will certainly keep it in mind if something else comes up, it is a very nice offer.

Great to get the young-uns involved- but look at her, sitting on her heels on her tip toes. Makes me hurt just to think about it! Ah, to be young again!
