I have a Hesston 540 with hydraulic tie, would like to stay 4x4 but have net wrap capabilities. like the claas balers, rollant 46 & 250 any other brands that I should look at? thanks.

I have a claas 46rc. Tough little baler. Does take some hp to bale with these fixed chamber balers though. I think the book says 75hp, and i believe 75 would be a stretch. 90+ is more realistic. I think krone makes one. You could also buy a 4x5 belt baler and set it to make 4x4's. You'll get more hay packed into a belt style also, but I get along fine. Only bale a couple bales per year and bought it for almost half what a deere or new Holland costs of the same age.

I can set my JD 435 down to make a 4x4 bale but it's not net wrap. There are some 435's that have that feature.
