Radiator Rebuilds

Man are radiators getting expansive. last year it cost me $1,000 to get a Deere 4010 radiator rebuilt. I could have bought a new one cheaper but elected to do it once right. Well my Case 455C crawler started leaking. I pulled it out and its shot. 1400 bucks for new core! There is only one place in St. Louis I know of that still rebuilds them. They do good work and the repaired radiators weigh about 10X's the Chinese ebay replacements and you know they will fit. Smarts in the pocketbook though.

I had the one for my 2-105 White recored a year ago. Cost me $675. I needed one for the 2-135 last week, didn't have time to wait for a recore, bought a new one. $981 plus $120 overnight shipping. It's a lot bigger than the one for the 2-105,so I didn't figure I'd save much if I waited for the recore.

If you have a good local guy that you know does them right many times that is worth paying the extra for. I really question the quality of a lot of this aftermarket stuff.
Yes everything is getting out of sight. The used 4010 is still only worth as much as they were back when parts were cheaper but then go price a NEW 100hp tractor I guess ?
