Made it to 45

Never thought it would happen, but today marks our 45th anniversary. The first few years were pretty rough as we were both divorced and my new bride had a son and me being just divorced with 2 girls. If you haven't gone thru that IT'S FUN. The kids were all still small and wanted us to do the favorites thing (neither of us would) Of course they are all grown with kids of their own now. When we moved back on the home place here in Meigs county away from the in town living of Military life, it was a big change for the wife but she made it and soon was making pretty decent windrows with the old WC Ally. Now the grandkids do most of the mowing and baling while Grandpa does the raking and Grandma cooks lunch and supper. I'm so glad that I learned early on to go outside and cuss the trees and she would make bread and pound the dough harder than she needed too when we had an argument, even tho I lost I still ate good LOL. This first 45 went by really fast but I don't believe there will be a next 45 so I'm gonna enjoy however many there is left. Keith

I've been there and know what your talking about. Been 18 years for us and we still have a few issues from time to time, but mostly it's good now that the kids are gone. Congratulations on making it this far!

Enjoy seeing the anniversaries celebrated. Marriage can be one of the hardest and most rewarding things at the same time. My late wife and I were married 15 years before she lost her battle with cancer. I remarried a couple years ago. Me with 3 boys, her with 2 girls. Girls now are 10 and 12. Boys are 12,14,16. Some days I think I am going to pull my hair out with all their fussing and drama. I often have to remind myself to choose my battles wisely. Kids all get good grades, they are not on drugs, they are good workers. (most of the time LOL). We often get comments from others about how nice and respectful the kids are. All in all we have a pretty blessed family.

Gee, Craig, you guys are just one short of a Brady Bunch! Congrats to you, and to Keith as well. Mrs. Shoo and I are at 46, and counting.

Congratulations! Making "blended" family's work is a challenge. SWMBO & I are in the same category, but we are a long way behind you at 25 yrs. Going to Mexico this weekend to give the daughter away at her wedding.

Congratulations to you! My wife and I have just passed our 56th anniversary. It's been a great life together. Unfortunately she has developed physical handicaps, and now, has slowly progressing dementia--probably Alzheimer's. She's 76 and I'm 81.

Congrats!!

My wife and I hit 51 last October. My wife is 76 and I'm 82. She always says I'll outlive her, based on family history. Maybe she's right. Most of my ancestors were functional and productive to 90 and beyond while most of hers didn't make it past their 70's.

Y'all started out the same way my wife and I did. Both divorced ,her with a son ,me with 2 girls. We add 3 more boys. Tough few years to start but happy now. We many years behind y'all. Congrats!
