...just like last year. Parts all over, darn thing is blocking the big doors in the shop. Big difference between the two years? I finished planting 6 days ago. I have crop just showing above ground in the field I started on. What I am doing to the planter is maintenance! Closing wheel spun a bearing on the last couple passes so I am fixing that. One of the straps that holds it up in transport broke off when I was dragging it home from the auction a few years back...made six nice slits in a blacktop road, caused me a lot of trouble...so I am replacing the chain with a new strap. Might just keep the chain...REALLY scary when transport fails. Need to fab a new bracket to hold up the fertilizer loader, one of the old ones rusted away. Looking at the dry fertilizer system, I do not think it can be saved. Sometime in it's life, someone did not keep it very clean. Augers and all of the steel inside the bins are badly corroded. More than usual from my perspective. Openers are scrap.
This is pretty nice. There are a lot of guys still not planted and fighting weather.
