Need to get the front tire off of a Super A and replace it. I gave it a good shot of PB Blaster this past Saturday. Probably going back this Friday. The front tires have a total of eight nuts (four pairs). It looks like four actually hold the rim on the hub (the outside four) and four hold the hub onto the tractor (the inside four). I'm thinking, loosen nuts, jack it up, remove rim, bring it home, get it fixed, take it back up, in order to roll the tractor onto the trailer in order to bring it to it's new home.
Does anyone know what size nuts? 7/8? Whatever it is I did not have the right size wrench when I was there Saturday.
ALSO, trying to get it to run. Wires are no good at this point (a lot of insulation is missing). I think I will run negative from battery to ground on tractor, positive from battery to starter, and a wire from positive battery to the positive side of coil, and a wire from negative side of coil to side of distributor. Would this be everyting I need to make a complete circuit in order to get it to run? I will need to clean the points, plugs and connections between distributor and plug wires, plug wires and plugs. Points should be 0.020 or 0.040? I"ve heard both.
Does this sound right? (tractor does have oil and full radiator, I cleaned the gas tank, sediment bowl, and carb last Saturday. It seems to be getting gas)
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.
