Got the Scag back running

I pulled the engine on the Scag a couple of weeks ago due to an oil leak. I found out the hidden drain plug under the starter was loose. The regular oil drain hose on the other side had seeped for a while so I took this opportunity to replace. I ended up breaking one of the fittings off the charcoal canister when I missed a line to take loose. I got a replacement one from Jacks engines, but it had one of the fittings broke right out of the box, gotta take care of that tomorrow. The mower runs fine with the two lines off that vent the carburetor and fuel tank, so no issue for right now.

It takes me about 2 hours to mow with that compared to 3 1/2 with John Deere LX280

What engine does your z turn have? I have a JD Z737 w/ a Kaw. engine & I just started developing the same problem. I changed the oil @ the end of last year's season, store in a heated garage , then mowed 3x this spring when I first noticed drips of oil on side away from the filter & drain plug. Jeff
