fun with Cub with backland planter

Well I had a little fun yesterday. I picked up a 74 international cub with a 144 cultivator and 172 planter last weekend. I put in 42 rows 150 feet long. With the cultivator setup, I should be able to keep infront of the weeds. Mostly sweet corn I plant enough for coons friends and may even get an ear for me. Put in 450 feet of green beans, bunch of pumpkins 150 foot row of onions and a line of romas. Probably lose the tomatoes as I cant water at the farm, but sure had fun. That fertilizer attachment and planter is the cat's meow for a gardener. All I have left to put in is a few rows of sweet sorghum, going to make syrup this year. I am waiting on the planter plate for that.

I use my JD 420 to plow, disk, and plant my garden. It takes longer to change plates than to actually plant. But, my knees don't hurt when I am done.

Get a fifty or hundred gallon plastic storage tank with a hose and put it in the back of your pickup to haul water for your plants.

Finally!! Someone who over does the garden like we do. Lol. Post some pictures. Love to see old tractors at work. My son has a 1950 cub , ain't no tall grass on our road. He mowed all the empty lots! Kevin in Central AL
