ford 600 hood center

Looking for some info on my ford 600 hood center. The one i have seems too narrow to fit correctly. I assume that this is not the correct center as the hood is correctly fit to the tractor and together properly. Any idea what center this is and what ones will fit my tractor? TIA 1955 ford 600 series

The Ford Cyclops nose cones used on all Ford AG tractors 54 - 62 are all the same width, as are the revised center pieces used on 63 - early 65 Ford tractors.

How much too narrow? The only difference between the 600 and 601 hood centers should be the hinge spacing. The wider spacing is to
accommodate a larger tank. Mine has a pretty good gap between the center and the panels too but it is needed to work properly.

That might be it. The hinges are off, but its almost like it wants to work. Bought this tractor from a farmer, its a bit scabbed together. I've learned a lot about the old fords doing research on it.
