Michelin tire recall

I'm probably not the only one who has 5 year old Michelin tires on a truck, or in my case motorhome. I had one explode last month about 3 mi from home. At the tire shop today, I showed the tire to the manager. He said these tires have a recall. So next Tuesday I am getting 6 new Michelin tires at no cost. Go to Michelin tire recall to see if you have one of the recalled tires. What a deal. Stan

The recall says all the tires are P series not LT. Odd you would have them on a motor home?

What you mean they did not pro rate them and sell you 6 new tires for $1200 (mount balance) are free!!! sounds to good to be true.

Thanks for the heads up, we run michelin here...never had a problem...but free rubber is free rubber.

You got luckier than my sister.
Years ago when the Firestone tires were exploding on the Ford Explorers, my sister wore out her Firestone tires and bought four new ones, of a different brand. About two weeks later, the recall came out and she couldn't collect. I'm sure the tire dealer was out back digging up the four Firestones and got some new ones for free.

Sounds like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Correct me if I am wrong, but where did I say I was being charged for 6 tires. The tires are still almost new. Next time take the time and read the total post slowly. Stan

My post was not directed at you! It was directed at jocco, obviously, since I quoted him! He is the one thinking that they would charge you for the tires and then said that it sounds too good to be true, as if something is fishy here when there is nothing fishy! He obviously doesn't understand how recalls work!

A year ago my tire store talked me out of buying Michelins for my Buick because they said new owners bought out Michelins and they have problems. So, I bought Yokohama tires and my gas mileage suffered. I regret not buying Michelins.

I've been a fan of Michelin tires for the past 25 years. In 2007 I bought a new GMC truck that had General tires. After putting up with the ruff ride for 300 miles, I replaced them with Michelins 70k tires. I got 87K out of them. Replaced them with Michelins a few months ago. I buy road hazard form tire store $50 for 4 tires. That also includes life time rotation and balancing.

So even if my Michelin tires have an issue, I feel I'm covered.
Not really if sure there is a perfect tire. I like the ride and mileage I get from them.

Another tire store calls Goodyear tire Good for one Year.

My cousin had one of those explorers too. His original tires lasted a long time and wore out normally. He replaced them with the same ones because they held up so well. But I'm not sure if he got or even tried to get anything from the recall ?

Looks to me like the recall is for one size only,
LTX M/S2 Michelin LTX M/S LT 225/75R16 115/112R LRE
