farmall bn correct front tires

I recently aquired a 1941 Farmall BN with the narrow front end.
The owners manual I purchased said it takes 6.00-12 tires but the actual tires on it say 4.00-15.
This is good because the 6.00-12 are $135 each compared to $45ish for the 4.00-15.
Were the originals the 6.00-12? Could mine have been switched at some point?

There where a number of options for them. I think you posted something the other day and a guy answered you and gave you a list of the options. All the Bs I have had used a 15 inch front tire and I have had at least 4 of them and still have 2 parts Bs

The first B's came out with a single front wheel taking the 6.00-12 tire, the size for the double front wheels on later B's is 4.00-15.....9.00-24's
(9.5-24) on the rear wheels. Some early B's had 7.00-24's or 8.00-24's with the narrow base rims, all the later ones came with 9.00-24's on the
newer wide base rims.

Finding the old post you did is easy if you make sure you do the e-mail notification thing so any time some one answers you you get a new e-mail

That said I cannot say for sure but I think the wheel centers for the 12 inch wheels are different then the ones for the 15 inch ones. I.E. the center will be smaller so as to fit the smaller rims
