Any idea on what this hydro transmission is out of? It was in a batch of stuff from an auction, not sure what to do with it. Guessing it doesn't work if taken out. Someone would want it as a core? Thanks

If you have a factory-certified Danfoss distributor in your area they could probably run the serial number and tell you exactly what you have. It is doubtful that they could tell you what machine it was originally used in but there's always a chance. You can find a map of these distributors on the Danfoss Power Solutions website under the "Contact Us" tab. Danfoss is the latest company name for what used to be Sundstrand. (It was Sundstrand then Sauer-Sundstrand then Sauer-Danfoss and now just Danfoss.)

Danfoss is an awesome company. They are about like Seimens, or LG, or Samsung. I've bought Danfoss refrigeration controls, Danfoss variable frequency drives, now they bought into hydraulics. Last I heard 10 -15 years ago they had fifty operating divisions or product lines. They will all end up being #1 in their industry.

Is that sarcasm ?

They are a horrible company ! We use some of their products here at work. Takes them forever to get parts to you for their units. Then they want to charge you an extortion fee (expediting fee)which still leaves a long lead time ,but not as long.
Sent orbit drive motors into one of their repair shops in Ohio and as soon as you hook them up they are still leaking. They are not good at repairing things either.

I have a completely different opinion of Danfoss. I've worked with this company for over 15 years, spec'ing out many of their components for the machines I'm responsible for, and regard them as one of the better suppliers I work with. They are responsive and their components hang in there, even in abusive applications. Being a large OEM and a major customer of theirs we work directly with their main office in Ames, IA and don't get involved with their distributors or repair shops. Maybe that is the cause for our differing views.

I would guess it's out of a combine. Model 23 is a big unit, very powerful. Did you get the motor also? I have the same thing in a Michigan scraper to run the elevator. Good for 250+ HP.
