Little bit of gas in diesel?

Bought a 25 gallon fuel tank with electric pump off Craigslist. PO had gasoline in it but I am going to use it for diesel. I have dumped all I could get out of the tank and filter but doubt I could get every drop. Any big problem if I end up with less than 1/2 cup gasoline in 25 gallons of diesel?

Thanks,

If you are going to be using it for older equipment I would say no. Newer common rail engines may not be such a good idea. Gasoline was used in the good old days to keep diesel from jelling in the winter.

Some people are still cutting diesel with gas in the winter. Something like 20% I believe.

Companies like GM stated in the pickup truck owner's manual that up to 10% gas could be put into the diesel fuel in a pinch.

It won't hurt but if you dump a gallon of diesel in then dump that out you'll have nearly no gas left if it matters to you.

Volkswagon recommends up to 1/3rd gasoline in a tank of diesel fuel to prevent gel in the fuel lines in harsh winter conditions, truckers running Northern Ontario in the winter put 20 gallons of gas in 200 of diesel to prevent gel and lines freezing so you have absolutely nothing to worry about !

no problems; when i ran over-the-road trucking in the 80's, i always carried a gal of gas in the winter time. got me outta many tight spots!
