Fence is there any water what kind of grass and the list goes on. Is it weed free and how many acres and of course location. Good pasture can bring good money.

That chart is a little behind the times. I live in Nebraska, The chart shows $16.00 an acre. My taxes are more than $16 an acre.

In SD it all depends on who is responsible for fence maintenance, weed control, and the availability of water. The better it works the more it's worth. It's not uncommon in my area to hear of pasture going for $75-$100 an acre for good water and decent fence. The renter usually still takes care of the fence and outstanding weeds. We are in a high demand area though.

I get 60 cents per head per day. Thirty head show up May 1 and run until the grass runs out - usually Nov 1 to Nov 15th. Three pastures totaling roughly 40 acres of grass and I also let them have some hay fields late in the season. I care for the fences, but he comes and helps if they get out, which is very seldom. They're watered by a stream and are trained for electric fence. They're more likely to plow through a 5 strand barb wire fence than a single strand of poly wire.

In my neck of the woods, its about 150 per cow calf pair, and upwards from there. Allow about 5 acres per pair in my area. Good grass, water, and fences fetch more money.
