Oats are up

In spite of the cold and nasty rain this weekend, saw a few poking out this morning. Lots more this evening. Planted week ago Tuesday. Looks like a nice stand considering the seed has been stored for second season. Hoping for a better yield than I had last year. What little matured got cleaned up by deer and turkeys. Had a nasty dry spell just when the oats were coming on. Unfortunately the deer use current field for crossing often.

Glad to hear. I think there is going to be a lot of replanting of corn and beans here in Indiana. My uncle had just told me this is the first year in his life of 80 years that he had all the crops planted before the month of May started. Then we got about 10 inches over the last week. So it will not be done after all.

Mine are still in the wagon.

I hope yours turn out this year. If they don't,it'll be a pretty slow year at Blanchard again.
