HOW TOO?

How do you copy and past an email address on craigs list to reply to add? Has one place that says reply by email that I think is supposed to be a clickable ling but when I try I getso much I don't understand. Then it has a place it says copy and past into your email. I tried last evening to follow up on an ad. I tried to just copy the address listed to send the email, hard to copy that much. It said it went and so far it has not come back but I have had them come back 36 hours later. On the receit does it activate when they open their email? or is it when it enters their inbox? I do have problems with sending emails unless I can just click on reply.

I open two windows at once,the ad and my email. Then just right click on the email address on CL. A box should pop up with options. Click COPY. Now open your email page,click where you put the email address,right click again,then click PASTE and the entire email address from CL should appear there,ready to go to work. Put something in the subject line so they know you're responding to the ad and type in your message,just like any other email.

After you open the ad you want to reply to, click on the Craig's list "reply" button

Then since their clickable link is not working for you...

at the bottom of that box, where it says "copy and paste into your email"...
their email address is already highlighted blue

- just Right-click it and select "copy" from the drop down menu that appears

- then open your email program and start a new email message

- then in the "To" box where you normally type an email address... just Right-click in that box, then from the drop-down menu that appears, select "paste"

How do you open 2 windows at once?

Open Craig's list... then click on the button at top-right side (next to the the red-X button used for closing the window). That button icon looks like a small square in front of another square... if you point your cursor at it, it'll say "restore down".

That will resize your window smaller. (Later, to return to full size - just click that same button to maximize the window... when you point at it AFTER making it smaller, then it will say "maximize".)

You can further adjust the size of any window by pointing your mouse at either edge of it, until you get a two-sided arrow...
Then hold down your left mouse button and drag the window's edge inward to make it smaller.

Then open your email program and do the same steps to resize that window too.

Finally... you can re-position the windows if needed (so they are side-by-side)... by left-clicking AND holding down mouse button, in the solid colored "blank space" at the top of window... meaning the space to the left of your closing button. While still holding down the button - you can drag the window in any direction.

NOTE: After you resize a window - the next time you open it, it WILL be the small size. So you will need to click on the "maximize button" to have it fill your whole screen.

People don't always reply. So you may be doing everything right, but you may never hear back from the seller.

If you just said, "Is it still available?" you probably won't get a reply back. That's what most people reply with, and they never follow up, so many sellers don't waste their time replying. Those people are either spammers looking for email addresses, or they are just tire-kickers wasting the seller's time.

If you include a phone number, your name, and a specific question about the item, you are more likely to get a response because it shows that you actually know what ad you are replying to, and you are willing to stick your neck out a little.

You don't have to open two at once,I just do so I can double check for mistakes.

to open two windows just open your browser twice(instead of double click, click four times) this allows you to make one page smaller and can view two pages at once.....some systems have a tab system that allows multiple pages open on same window(one view able others just a click away)

My problem was with understanding how the email program works. I did start out with my name and address. Then That I was interested in the hay rakes he had, he did not say a make, and I said I was interested in the McCormick No 5 and the Deere 594LW rake that were pictured. I also put down my email and said prefered because of hearing problems but gave my phone number. When I got home I had a phone call that I could not make out a word of but think it was from him. But the question of receipt requested that I said yes for I have not gotten one so was it supposed to send the receipt when it hit his inbox or when he opened his mail or did I do something wrong that I did not get the reciept. I did get enough that I think he said he would try to call back later. But is there an easy way for me to get craigs list email in to send the email, that was my question.
