I posted awhile ago about a deer antler in my tire, stuck in the rib. I thought I removed all the antler but now I see a piece of it is still in the tire. I put a very small screwdriver into the cut and can feel it. I also can see a small bulge on the side of the rib. Don't want to wait for it to work further in and ruin the tire(14.9 x 24 radial). So I'm asking for ideas of how to remove the piece, cut a hole from the top or cut the rib on the side or...

Doubt if the whole family will fit in the tractor cab or if the tractor will go fast enough to have a life-threatening event if the tire goes flat.

I agree. Would be hard to fit the whole family unless you have a minnie mo udlx! But then again they did not have 24" rubber. On another note I had a tire that had a spot where something went in the riband left a hole. Don't know if I ever got it all out but it never did cause any problems. Sorry I could not have been more help.

I was taught to use a dull ice pick, you slide it around the antler and try to find the bottom, then you work the pick around and a round and you can screw it out. You don t want anything really sharp because you can puncture the tire.(if you have the tire off the rim dig away and then patch the hole.) This also works to dig out hedge thorns.

Can you tap into the broken end with an E-ZOUT or something similar and pull the piece of antler out?

dig it out, u dont want to go making larger holes inside the tire. may need a patch inside anyhow.

I don't know how hard an antler is. Can you screw a sheet metal screw into it and pull it out with the screw?

Maybe go in thru side of rib with an ice pick to try a pry it out. I'm with the others, if you leave it, you will be fixing a flat caused by it.

I would drill and tap for a screw. Once screw is in place it will help to put lubricant in the hole.

My apology for not thoroughly reading your post. The Barley pops were on the back porch, and it was a warm evening.CM
