Snake repellant?

I have a couple of snakes that like to find vent holes in the brick walls of the house and raise their young inside the wall. There's never been a problem with them getting inside the house but we'd rather have them gone. Is there any kind of repellent that can be sprayed along the foundation that will keep them away?
Thanks

They do not like sulfur and lime burns their belly but that is all before they get into the house. I guess if you are not bothered by the smell of sulfur in your house then.........................................

I could be wrong, but don't think most snakes have the ability to smell. However, you could buy some stainless steel mesh and work it into the vent holes. Moisture will still vent, but neither snakes nor bugs will be able to get through. You could also use standard aluminum screen and epoxy a small piece over each vent hole.

About the only thing I know of that'll keep all snakes away....well, there's 2 things, but I don't think you want to move up here for cold temps to be one of them. *lol* The other is vibration. Snakes don't like a lot of vibration. So it you want to ensure snakes (and gophers!) stay out of a certain area, then buy or build a heavy-duty vibratory unit, then bury it in the ground in the center of the area you want protected.

Moth balls and if that don't work make sure your fire insurance is paid up
As for vibration I run a very large natural gas compressor that vibrates the ground quite a lot and in the last two years we have killed
two copper heads on the concrete pad it sets on.

Once you are fairly certain they are gone, you can block the holes.

Get some 1/4" hardware cloth. Cut some strips about 2" X 6", fold the strips so they can be jammed into the vents.

Hmm...I knew that snakes could sense heat with their tongues, but never knew that they could actually distinguish odors. Looked up one of the snake repellents from the Home Depot link and found that the active ingredients in the Ortho brand is:
0.96% Cinnamon Oil, 0.56% Geraniol, 0.37% Castor Oil, 0.18% Mint Oil, 0.18% Clove Oil

That's pretty amazing! And it says this is supposed to last up to 30 days. ....So I wouldn't have had to move up near the Canadian border after all??

Do you know where the hole are ? I think they would not 'pull out' steel wool that was stuffed in the holes.
good luck !
