Tree Puller

Awhile back I posted some pictures of the $799.00 tree puller I bought. It came without a guard on the hydraulic cylinder or the person running it so I built both. I built the guards out of used steel and sandblasted them and hung the big guard from my gallows and painted the bottom and the wife helped me flip it over so I could paint the top--real careful. Got it painted-weather front came through, blew it over. Oh well. I don't have a skid loader but my Son has a Case 1845C so that is what we put it on. Never been around one--works good. They say--PULL TREES 8 INCHES IN DIAMETER--Don't believe it. The dirt is soft and a 4-5 in. tree gives his Case all it wants. I was so careful with the paint but after using it for a few hours it is all scratched up. The cylinder guard is sheet metal broke with muffler clamps the same size as the cylinder welded to the sheet metal. Most of the ones I was pricing came without a person guard--after running this one for a couple of hours, I would never run one without one... Thanks---Tee

My neighbor called wanted to know if I had a large semi rim to pull his stumps out. I asked why not use front loader on your new 55 hp YTM? He said because it just lifts his rear tires off. He is now using a log and a chain that goes over the log to pull them out, but he can't lift them out.

I have to use a chain to get mine out that's on steep hillsides that nothing can drive up.
