I guarantee you ive had 50 phone calls this week from snake charmers trying to give me money.all calls come up from in our country and a different number every time, how does a person put a stop to this ???

I'm not sure how to stop it, I just tell them if they're willing to wave the several thousand dollar release fee I'll split the windfall with them, they usually just hang up lol

Can't stop em. I started a new contact in my phone called Don't Answer. I add every bogus scam call to it so my call blocker picks it up automatically. It must have over 50 numbers in it now, and this is just over a month of doing it.

This is what I do too. My contacts only hold 25 numbers, but my 4th one is almost full. Just set them on all calls to voicemail and the problem has gotten much better. Somehow they have gotten so that they can change the calls to voicemail setting and I sometimes have to redo that tho. That is agrivating and I'm talking to verizon about that.

You can keep it down to a dull roar by NOT ANSWERING.

The problem is people seem to think they have to answer the phone any time it rings or else they are being rude. You don't.

On a cell phone you can easily see what number is calling you. Swipe left and send it to voicemail. If the call is important they will leave you a voicemail and you can call them back right away. If the call is a scam, they will not leave a voicemail, and will not call you again.

If you have a landline, seriously consider getting caller ID and a voicemail service.

Seriously, you DON'T have to answer the phone every time it rings! When you answer the phone they know they've got a good number, and they will try to hit you from every angle.

I don't get many of those calls. I only answer calls if I know the number or expecting a call from an out of the way number.

You have kids? You have elderly parent? You do some business?

Phones are meant to be used by the owners.

'Just don't answer it' is kind of an odd statement on all this....... Seems you are blaming the phone owners for being harassed by scammers.

Seriously, does anyone really have a phone that does not read out the caller's number and answer the call?

You're right we don't have to answer the phone every time it rings........ BUT......... We don't need it to ring every 5-10 minutes either. Mine did for several weeks until I added a call blocker and the contact "Don't Answer". I'd sure like when the phone rings is for real.

Answer or not how would YOU like it to have the phone ring almost continuously????

I have a wife with cancer, mother in law that's 92. I need to look at my phone each time it rings, just in case. There needs to be a way to get rid of these scammers and unwanted calls for good.

I ask for legal service address, have the phone number of states attorney office scribbled next to phone. If they continue to read from script i tell them the states attorney has advised me to refer to them as lieing thieves, scammers-address them as such. Call states attorney fraud office at this number or give me legal service address where subpoena can be sent. Usually a big CLICK then. Might record some of last words- I might learn to cuss in Urdu or Russian. In Spanish Puta means??? RN

I use old landline phone with no caller ID or answering machine, cell phone is TracFone and usually off unless on road for emergencies. Retired, not expecting any calls to come into work to cover a no show any more. Family knows when to call or use emails. relatively peaceful- telemarket scammers are amusing to tease. RN
