The plow Serial tag shows it's a model 3240 ST. I need new plowshares and I'm wondering where to find them and if there is a part number for them. Any help would be appreciated.

More important than the model number of the plow is the number on the back of the moleboard. The shares will also have numbers stamped in them. More questions?

If all else fails maybe you could do like my dad did years ago, he took them to an amish blacksmith and they built them back up.

I would think any Agco dealer could get them. All you need to know is the size (12", 14", 16") and whether they are 3 bolt or 4 bolt. 3 bolt shares will work on 4 bolt frogs, by the way. The last I knew original Agco shares held up better than most of the after market shares. Never used Shoups, so I don't know about them.

The shares on your plow are the long ones. The short ones work just as well and pull a bit easier, but it really doesn't make much difference which you use.

If you are plowing in rocks, the 4 bolts shares are better.

Back when I had my plow the 3 bolt became unavaible and we had to use the 4 bolt that was 1/2" longer sticking out on the left side. He has the full cut that you need for sod with roots, the narrow cut is for ground that does not have deep rooted weeds as if you have those deep roots a strip of then will not get cut off and keep growing. Never had a 4 bolt frog to try a 3 bolt share on so I don't know about going with the older (3 bolt) share to the newer (4 bolt) frog.
