Massey Harris 22 does not start well and quits like running out of fuel ...plugs will be dry. Lots of fuel getting to the carb which has been apart
and cleaned with a new kit installed. Marvel schebler. What is going on here....new one on me. Compression is good and lots of pull on the
manifold intake when carb is removed. Help please.....Frank

Any time you clean a carb you need to do 4 things.

#1 a good soaking for say 24 hours or so in a good carb cleaner.

#2 you need to blow out all passage ways with compressed air.

#3 you need to spray out all passageways with spray carb cleaner.

#4 you need to use a small wire or as I do a torch tip cleaner tool and poke out all passageways.
Then repeat a couple of times. It is easy to leave rust/dirt in a passageway unless you do all 4 things

There is a drain plug in the bottom of the carb. With the fuel valve on, remove the plug, be ready to catch what comes out in a clean glass.

It should have a full flow, then slow as the bowl empties, but still maintain a stream, not a drip or stop.

If not flowing well out the plug, fuel is not making it to the carb bowl. Could be the float level set too high, some have a screen in the elbow where the fuel line attaches to the carb, be sure the tank is vented, the separator bowl screen is in place and clean, the line should be steel, not copper, routed the most direct down hill path, as far from the exhaust as possible. If an inline filter is used, it needs to be a screen type, made for gravity systems.

If flowing well, revisit the carb. Look at what came out of the bowl. If rusty flakes, dirt, water are present, that is getting in the carb. Could be clogged again or contaminated with water.

The new fuel line I installed is somewhat longer than the original and droops maybe too far below the carb....could this be a problem???

The loop itself would not be a problem but if it has caught crud from the tank that would be a problem.
