Historic Star Barn being moved

The historic star barn near Harrisburg Pennsylvania, so named for its large star shaped louvers, has been called the most recognizable barn in the country. For the past couple decades it has been threatened with neglect and urban encroachment. Several organizations have made efforts to preserve it but have failed to do so. It has finally secured an owner who has the money and resources to do the job. It has been dismantled and will be erected in a new location this July. The public is invited to attend and help with a barnraising.

Good to see historic sites preserved like that!

Takes a lot of money and work, hard to find enough support to make it happen.

It's great to see old barns saved. Would be nice to see. Now on a side note I think the Amish could do it faster and cheaper. Lol.

That's great, they just burn or knock old barns like that down around here. Saves money on the property taxes to knock them down because we are largely square footage based.

It's going South a few miles to E,Town Pa. We had a driver that was brought up on that farm and later worked as a hired man on the farm.
