Ad on radio claims you never have to change oil on 190 cc briggs on pressure washer, just check and keep it full.
Believe it or Not.

My vote is NOT, I would change it.

Some lawn mowers with Briggs engines have been advertising the same thing for several years now (Sears?). I think it is an admission that many home owners never check mower engine oil much less change the oil. Topping off the oil is much less intimidating than changing oil. Getting homeowners to at least top off the oil does more to increase engine life, increase customer satisfaction and reduce warranty costs than a (will never happen) requirement to change oil accomplishes, (and the engines last long enough to get past the warranty period).

That does not prevent anyone from changing oil regularly if you want to. Myself, I still change mower oil about every 25 hours.

Probability game again.

Synthetic oil helps, and most homeowner machines will be long out of warranty before problems related to lack of routine maintenance manifest.

I believe it.

I change the oil in my small engines at the recommended intervals, and the oil is just as clean and clear as the new oil that goes back in. Seems like a waste to me.

I have a 2 year old briggs on a Toro 20" mower. Three ways to change the oil. Drain plug on side of block...drain plug on bottom of block...turn upside down and drain out the oil fill spout  ...says so right in the owners manual. Guess how the one I gots is. Yep gotta turn it upside down and drain out the filler tube. Cheep throw away junk. What a crock of chitt.

The one thing that engine has going for it is it doesn't run in a generally dusty environment. Dust is always in the air but a pressure washer usually won't see the amount of dust a lawn mower experiences.
