Hay crop on shares

Got some HAy to do this year i got all the equipmemt to make this work how would be the best way to make this work one fellow needs. his hay for his horses on shares Next one is all custom 7 acres need his hay for a place he stallable his wifes horse. Third guy was feeding a calf and ran out of hay I can get all that hay 2 year old feild thin seeding reseeded with red clover and looks good. Have ten on. my farm for 20 head cow /calves any good ways to make this happen round and squares hay done on shares they got to put away. If you could give me dollars or some way to figure it out would be help full I all so feed potatoes and some corn fooder

on shares if you are splitting hay with land owner,,you mow cut and bale you get 2/3 the hay the owner gets 1/3,,,,if there is reseeding to be done that is a different ball game

Any of my rented hay ground done on shares is 2/3 for me as the operator, 1/3 for the landowner. If a cash rent, $16 per ton harvested. This is for wild/native grass hay in MN. Rent might look a little different if it was better quality, high yielding hay, but my rented ground is not. I'm even trying to let some of this go as I don't want to continue to cover this many acres. Only problem the owners are facing, no one else wants to cover their ground either.

Last time I did hay on shares, I go 75% of the hay. But I brought it all home and stored the other 25% for the guy.

good luck btdt hay selling is dealing with a bi!!hing party some where all time. weather is always deciding factor. .sure glad i went straw and sold to stores way better pay. no longer involved now all hay equipment went to state of ohio.

I do mine on halves. 50% for them, 50% for me. But I don't put it in the barn for him. I drop it in front of the barn and that's his responsibility.

I agree the 75/25 is probably a better deal and what I should be doing, but I really needed the hay when I made that deal.

When the landowner wants some of the hay its a 70/30 split. Sometimes I'm even nice enough to move their 30% to the edge of the field. If they don't want the hay I will buy their 30% share, or pay them a price for each bale; either way it works out the same for me just some landowners want to do it one way or the other.
