Strawberrys in store today marked product of USA, what state would they be from? Same thing sweet corn what state would have it already. Same question rhubarb, not sure if this is USA raised or not.

Florida and Texas have strawberries ready, maybe California too. The Hillsboro Florida county fair is called the strawberry festival and is in February.

Strawberries here in Iowa come from Calif its been a long time since ive seen any from Fla but they were always better new Corn from Fla just got here last week

was at florida flywheelers show in feb, stayed in brandon, east of tampa, mexicans were picking strawberries out of town every day

Leroy........botta BIG plastic box of strawberrys at Costco, marked "grown in Chile." Growing up in mile-hi Durango, Colo, rhubarb was one of the few plants the deer would NOT eat. Leaves are poisonous. Hadda hook-bill linolium knife that I'd slice the stem off'n the root and bring in the house fer mom to make rhubarb compote. Cooked 2-in chunks with sugar. Spooned on top of ice cream, was to die for. Now why am I slobbering??? Big tractor show up at Lynden, (Bellingham, Wash, Just south of Canadian Border) gotta steam powered log retriever, and the church ladies are selling rhubarb pie. After watching some pulling contests, would buy a pie and head 200-mi South to Roy, Wash; at the foot of 14K Mt Rainier. Sometimes the pie didn't make it all the way home. yum-yum.......Dell

Just hard to picture that much difference in growing seasons from south to north where I live in Ohio. Yesterday morning when I put that question on it was 27 and the dark trucks setting out were white with frost. Should be starting field prep now but water setting every ware and next 9 days predicting 2.6" more. And forcast wet all way into mid-late may. So no corn planted here for quite a while.

I'm in SW Missouri and I had to pull the seed heads off my rhubarb yesterday, it won't be long before I can pick it. We had corn on the cob Sat that the wife bought at the store, it was very good and sweet. Can anybody tell me why the sweet corn you buy at the store is great up until about July 4th and after that it tastes like field corn. Maybe they don't raise it anywhere but Florida. I have asked several people in the food business and they can't tell me.

A carton of strawberries that my wife bought a couple of days ago at our local Walmart is labeled "Watsonville, California".

All that stuff is being picked in southern California. 4 years ago we were out there this time of year and stuff was available everywhere and they were planting the next crop.

Dead Eye........yeah, they still do. Last time I was there, they made you check yer firearms at the gate 'cuz theys worrying about the rare and endangered Lackamas grey squirrel. One shorted out my power pole transformer. Roast squirrel ennyone? Had one fall down the sewer vent pipe and out the toilet bowl. Can you imagine taking a crapper and have some squirrel thinking about some nuts hanging there? I put some leather gloves on and retrieved the WET squirrel and flung him out the door. Dang fuzzy tailed tree rats, qitts my dogs all excited.......Dell

The United States is huge. It is not just the continental US but there are many US territories in the south Pacific and of course we do have big Island in the Gulf of Mexico.
