8n trans/hydraulic oil

Ok folks, been reading all kinds of recommendations on what oil to use. Always have used 80-90 gear oil. Guess it worked ok. Now, should I
use the GL 1, GL1 mineral oil, or the GL 4 or GL 5 80/90? Suggestions. Don't make it too difficult. Thanks.

Temperature may make a difference as to what you use.
I'm in Michigan so ambient temps are low in the winter.
I use Universal Tractor Fluid that meets the M2C134D Ford spec.
Traveller from TSC is lower priced then Wal-mart brand here.
5 gallon pail for ~$40. 8N will hold ~4.5 gallons normally.

Looked at NAPA today they had some that met the ford spec but the clerk said that it was a 20 weight oil I thought that was way too light for
my old system that is why I thought I needed the 80/90

Oil that meets that spec is not 20W oil.
This has been discussed ad nauseam on the YT N forum.

I worked at a Ford dealership in the late 70's we always sold the 134 oil for them as a replacement as that is what Ford recommended
