March In Sask.

We are seeing the other side of March the past few days with some sun and warmth. As much as I hate the strong winds they sure did take the
snow away. Only a bit left in the ditches and trees now. Quiet and up in the 40s today so I had to get the Merc out on the road just to keep
the valves exercised. :)
I really messed up with this picture. The Eastern sky this evening was outstanding and I thought I was taking some great photos of it. Turned
out to be video instead so all I have is small freeze frame images to share.

You really have a great picture worthy of framing. You have caught some great color variations and it is better than what some artist can produce. Thank you!

An amazing photo! The fields seems to go on forever. The farms there must be huge. What is an "average" farm acreage in the area? I really enjoy your videos and photos. Please keep them coming. Ron (Oh, I have a 1949 Chev 3/4 ton pickup so I understand your feel for the Merc)

Thanks Ron. If you don't farm over 2000 acres here you are just a hobby farmer. I'm happy with my 900 odd acres though. The pics can be deceiving. That tree line in the distance is half a mile away which is where my next field starts.
I've got a similar truck to yours parked in the woods here too.

(quoted from post at 07:50:48 03/27/17) My Colorado family can't figure why I'm OK living in South Dakota. (aka South Sask.). Sure is purty once the wind stops blowin'

Thats the truth about the wind which is why I like to keep my trees. Most of the efficient farmers cleared all the trees out which makes for easier farming but not me.

My first wife had a '52 Mercury 2dr Customr when I married her in 1958.....we kept it as "our car" after we married as I had no car at the time. I had to overhaul it in 1959 having got it hot after skidding off the road into a snowbank here in Southern Michigan. I got to know that Mercury pretty well..... Old Mercury ran good until I traded it for a big, fancy, '55 Montclair 2dr hdtp in late 1961.

Got any pictures? I'm pretty stuck on the 52-53 Mercs but especially this one as it was bought by my dad in 1959 and h as been on the farm ever since. My brother did a rebuild on the flathead about 1980 but it was hardly driven after that. So the engine is in pretty good shape and runs great. Smooth old Mercomatic won't win any races but its fun to drive.

(quoted from post at 15:07:49 03/27/17) You were able to control the drone while driving?? Great video!!
No, I am not that skillful at multi tasking. The drone has a program that allows it to follow me wherever I go as long as I am carrying the remote controller. It does a pretty good job at keeping on target and keeping up. Although it has a maximum speed of 33 mph.

Send some of that warmth down here to New England! We have another eight inches of snow in the forecast.

Thanks for a look at some amazing country north of the U.S., always fascinated by scenes from there. How much help do you have farming 900 acres?

A lot of the time I work alone but have help moving machinery between farms when I need it. Also at harvest time because there is no way to do it all by myself. The land is spread out in 3 separate farms ten miles apart.
