I don't know about scam but way over priced. You could find non-runner 50 or 55 series tractors that have not punched a hole in the block for that and potentially recover your block cost by parting out the rest of the tractor.

1850's did not have a Waukesha engine. 1855's did.

1750's did have the Waukesha 310 and some of those received a newer replacement engine along the way that would be alright for the turbo application such as it was with the 1855.
