We had chickens and all the other normal farm animals at home when I was growing up.
I gathered eggs but never paid much attention to the habits of hens and roosters while laying eggs.
The neighbors hens are taken to my shed and finding places to lay eggs. The rooster follows and stays besides her.
I also hear groaning and crying? as she passes the egg. Must be painful.
The rooster is right there to comfort? her and service her right after she lays the egg.
