Unusually large chicken egg

I have a small, mixed flock of 16 hens

Been laying well the last few weeks averaging 10 a day

The eggs come in all sizes from medium to jumbo...

Today's haul was a dozen but one egg twice the size of any ever

(quoted from post at 22:00:08 03/18/17) Tom. It s probably a double yoker. RB

We have some friends, Joe & Barb, who buy 2 dozen every week

I'm gonna give it to Joe for a St. Patty's Day gift...lol

Actually one of those could have three yolks. Two normal size and one
real little one like a marble size. Poor hen !!

Likely to be a double yoke egg. Seen many of them over the years. I have a few hens that want to sit on eggs so I am leaving the eggs under them for a day or so. I have 24 dozen eggs on hand right now so sure do not need any more

I have 8200 hens, so I see ones that size fairly often. Some have an entire egg in them, shell and all.

Wouldn't want to pay your feed bill !!

How many eggs a day do you average ?

(quoted from post at 03:10:55 03/19/17)
7900+/- eggs per day.

$510+/- feed per day.

WOW...over 650 dozen a day

I can't comprehend that amount EVERY day

That's alot of chicken chit to move also

Must be quite an egg processing facility with cleaning, grading, boxing and cold storage
