I hated to do that

I finally took all six new tires off this old thing and put them on my gooseneck trailer. I took the bed off too and sat that off to the side. I hate like heck yet to scrap something that still runs. I put it on CL to see if anybody has a need for it. It'll be just my luck something will happen to my 07 now and I'll need the darned thing. It's been a good old truck for the last 25 years.

Keep it! Scrap is in the toilet last time I checked, you'd be better off selling it for $150 cash to a high school kid who'd love to have it.

I'm not a ford guy.....is that pre-electronic ignition? If so...and it runs....id be interested. Looking for a old farm truck that is Zero computer fired....what part of MI are you?

Yep,no computer at all. It could use some new glow plugs, starts kinda hard. The drivers side cab corner and rocker panel let loose.
I'm near the middle of the lower peninsula. About 120 miles north of the Ohio state line.

Those era Fords don't seem to rust up near as bad as the newer models !

I was getting some metal clips to hold the cab marker lights off one in a local junk yard and it wasn't too bad either. You would think those clip could be found all over the place but not so ! a long reach with a short tab on one side so the gasket seals. I was lucky to find some in the yard. I got new marker lamps because mine needed gaskets which you can't find either. Water was running in on me from the visor mount . Mine is a 1981 F350. Never been in the salt and I plan to keep it that way.

Let me know if you don't get any bites on it before/if you haul it to the scrapyard. I have a wood hauler 1 ton with a 460 that I have been thinking of putting a 6.9 or 7.3 NA in, and A 2wd F250 I thought about making into a 4wd. I need another project like I need a hole in my head, but if I decide to do it, that'd be a good parts donor if I go that route. Hopefully someone else will buy it whole from ya.

There's an 83 here too that I bought for parts about a dozen years ago. It's pretty well broken down in to its basic components. That one's a 6.9 too. The motor, transmission, transfer case and rear end are out and laying here. I'd throw any or all of that in with it.

I don't know. All I can get. The crusher's paying $155 a ton. I don't know what the two of them would weigh if I hauled both over. $600? Send me an email.

Awwww poor baby. Find her a home somewhere! Several of these guys sound interested. Now a couple of weeks ago I posted this picture from 5he next door crowd. The kid that found this truck knows a guy who is going through the big "D". Didnt want her to get anything. Here is the rest of the story. He RESTORED it!!!!!!! Down to the frame and back. I wondered why it looked so good. This kid only paid $ 4.ooo for it!!!!!!! The guy who restored it says it is worth close to 15K with the big engine and all of the work.! He is making it a super mud truck that he is going to take to the little local car shows to show off. And you guys thought you were just a little too late for that really good find!

Randy, looks like it might be 4wd, does it have a straight front axle, or the twin I beam? (For some reason I feel like I recall you saying its a f250 in a post once upon a time, which should make it a twin I beam front axle)..

I'm amassing parts to "overhaul" my 86.. Have most of the things I want it to have, aside a straight front axle. Was planning to start on it later this spring, but changing jobs in a couple weeks, so it might wait until next winter now :-(

I don't have the time or the urge to fool with it. You should buy it and fix it up.

(quoted from post at 07:42:08 03/07/17) It's a 4x4 straight axle. I've got an extra one under an 83.

I'll send you a email.. I'd be interested in the axle (or whatever is left of the parts truck) if you'd sell it, if not already spoken for.. Don't really need motor, trans, etc.. Got most of that that, and extra.

Brad.
