Hello all! A little update on the road trip to pick up some old iron from Muscle Schoals, AL. I'll be departing Minneapolis the morning of March 30th, headed down US 61/I-55 through Waterloo, IA / Cedar Rapids, IA / St. Louis, MO / then I-155 through Dyersberg & Jackson, TN / down through Corinth, MS / then over to Muscle Shoals, AL. Headed back Saturday April 1st. I'm going to take the route north through Lexington, TN / Marion, KY / Champaign, IL / Madison, WI then back towards Minneapolis. I thought I would let you all know that I will be coming through. If anyone is open to opening their doors for a soda, and maybe some tractor talk, I have some time to burn. I don't think I will have time to stop at the Waterloo JD Museum, but would love to see it and am going to try. I'll be also looking for Farmall H/M parts if anyone has spares along the route, or knows of a good place to get them. (Rear wheel weights, front hubs/rims/tires for an H, PTO shields, Light bar)...

Have to be back in Minneapolis by Sunday the 2nd. E-mail is open for contact. Most nights I'll probably be sleeping in the truck just to save a buck. I hope to meet a couple of you during the trip! Any backwoods southern BBQ places to hit along the way? I always love a good BBQ!

You will be going thru Sikeston,Mo batter stop there as theres a huge salvage yd there and you just gots to stop and eat there huge place world famous. I would meet you south of Ia city at the truck stop at the Casino turnoff if you care to. If you need new tires Tuckers Tire in DYERSVILLE tENN

Small BBQ shack on HWY 45 just south of Selmer, TN. Selmer is south of Jackson just a little ways north of Corinth, MS. Place will be on your right with room for truck/trailer parking. Not bad eating.

Gene,

You've offered me a ton of help over the years. If you've got the time, I am more than willing to meet for a sandwich and soda. My e-mail is open. Looks like the salvage yard in Sikeston is part of the ASAP and/or Worthington network? There is also D&S Salvage right up the road from them. All are in close proximity to each other.

Thanks for the information!

You wouldn't be talking about 'Good Ole Rebel BBQ and Cafe' would you? Seems to be the only one I can find near 45 on the south side.

Think the name of this one is Pappy John's. When I say BBQ "shack", that is the way I would describe it. Very small with limited seating and been there a while.
Highway 45 comes around the west side of Selmer and as you get on the south side Hwy 45 will take a right at a stop light. After the right turn you are headed south again and if I remember right there will be one more stop light at Wal Mart. After you leave it you can almost see the place on the right probably around a mile ahead.

Guy by me is parting out an H was letting parts go pretty cheap. If your interested I could get in contact with him and see what he has left. I'm down by Red Wing Mn not far off your route.

I'm not sure if I'll make it. I work
overnights and I do have to work that
weekend. Makes for a long couple days
staying up for extended periods.

Norm, that would be great. I know where you're at. You helped me build my A into as unstyled from A slant dash. My e mail is open if you find anything.
