Farmall 460 Gas/Turbo

HI I'm looking at a Farmall 460 For Just some Tillage and Baling and maybe put a picker on. I've done a lot of reading on them and nobody seems to like them. but everyone around seems to like them. My question Is I found the bolt on Turbo for the 460. I'm wondering if anyone has been around Those kits and if they will help with power and Fuel economy. Any help would be great. Thanks! Colin.

Be careful with power, the drive train is derived from an H. They were upgraded in a recall, but they are not an M, or 560. Jim

for that little bit of field work you have lots of tractor there. they are fuel miser's as is. no way will adding a turbo give you better economy. they have all the power you want with the appropriate machinery without being abused.

Rear is pretty weak for a picker take it easy. Find mounts for a picker wont be easy

Yes the 460 was kinda the flashy one. The 560 is the one with the
brass if you get my drift. Still....don't push it. All a turbo will do
is blow it up.

I know the diesels were bad about having the heads crack. The extra heat and pressure from a turbo might result in the some thing on a gas engine.
