I posted a while back about looking at cheap 100 hp tractors, namely a White 2-105 and a Case 970. After thinking about it I made the 8 hour drive and looked at the White first. The paint isn't as nice as it looks in the picture, but it has brand new radial 18.4x38's on it, new tie rods and a new cab kit. Everything worked except the air, which was as they had told me. Everything felt tight except the throttle. I am now the owner of a White 2-105 for $8500. I also bought a plow and a running gear. I have to send a truck so I may as well get my money's worth. Thanks guys for the advice.

Congrats! Looks good. I'm sure you'll love it. Take off the left side panel, have somebody move the throttle lever so you can see what moves. There's a friction disc in the horizontal shaft. Uses a 9/16ths wrench. Loosen the lock nut and tighten the inner nut a little while somebody inside checks it for resistance.

Those things are nice to operate. A friend "allows" me to help put his beans in every year and I run his with a field cultivator or disk ahead of him with his drill or planter. Enjoy! gm

Honestly, I can see the paint issues in the picture, but that is not what I would be looking at. It is nice if you can get solid sheet metal and good paint. New tires and an engine that is tight and runs great is a better deal every time regardless of appearance. Lot of bang for your buck there.

I don't know but the paint looks reasonable to me. Have fun with your big new baby. You need to fix a couple of bugs to make it your own!!

That's for sure. I bought a 105 a year ago and I'm still adding extras. I just put a new digital radio and a new speaker in it two weeks ago. It takes time to get them the way you want them.

The one thing on the one in the picture,it wouldn't have been a red stripe. No headlights in the grill makes it an early one.

best part is it is years ahead of the yellow and green ones and much more hp for the money it was worth it we tried to get one looked similar sat it went at 10500

Yes yes. That is why I tinkered for three years with my big bad beasty. I just got a new used shift selector cover plate and the plastic covers for the deck spindles from Ebay. Have taken her to a couple of fairs and small engine shows. Quite a few people have been very impressed with this 625lb. Girl. That is an older wheel horse ten cube trailer. Also 25 in rear tires. Love her and mows soooo nice.

Does that mean that the red stripe panel is not original? I think I will be happy even if it is a 74. it only has about 5400 hours. Thanks for telling me how to fix the throttle.

I think it's the right side panel, somebody has just put the red stripe decal on it. It would have looked more like this.

One thing I really like about the 105 is that you can reach the hyd levers and pto lever from the rear under the cab. handy when hooking up.
