I just saw some green leaves & buds on some Mesquite trees in N Texas. I have little regard for the opinion of Phil the ground hog.

Here in Kansas I'm not sure what season it is. Seems like it's down in the 20's and 30's one day, 70's the next. Either way didn't get any snow or rain, everything is dry. Red flag warnings are out but it's not stopping people from burning though.

All the old timers always said when the Bois De Arc and Mesquite bud, that spring has sprung. They are doing it now here NE of Dallas, I sure hope it's true, but we had frost the past two nights.

I saw black locust trees greening up today. They are usually the last tree to put on leaves. This year they are about the first.

Redbud and Dogwood trees are blooming here on the farm in NE Texas.
