June auction in Iowa ..... holy smokes !!!

I love the flame job on the last car before the tractors start. Much better than what most do today.

I don't watch American Pickers any more, But that one had to be on their list to snoop through. And maybe they did and I didn't see it. That is an impressive collection!

Wow ! Hey anybody know what the intake manifolds that had part valve cover gasket surface on them ? Some collection.

Where in the heck does someone find all that stuff, let alone the time and money? If I had a better truck to pull it I would take my car hauler out there and wait for a deal to come by. But my truck is in the same league as some of those cars. :)

dr sportster, the intake and heads fit Ford big block FE series engines, 360, 390 series, many others. Popular in the 60's-70's.

I remember the intakes well, the cast iron versions weighed about 80 lbs! Try sitting that on without slipping the gaskets! LOL

Somebody has a lot of excess money tied up in that collection, did they make it all from farming?

I love visiting the Schwanke's Tractor, Car and Truck Museum in Willmar, MN. The owner ran a salvage yard. He saved and repainted many really interesting pieces after buying them as scrap or salvage. Nice people to talk to, well worth the stop.

Oh wow he even had the toy Pedal cat dozer that started all my mental problems in life . it all started with a shopping trip to the May Co. in Cleveland Ohio with my grandparents back in 1951 when my grandfather took me up to the toy deptand they had that Cat dozer setting there and i sat in it . I wanted that so bad and i can even remember the price of it it was 52 bucks . Back then that would have been a weeks wages for a working man . I also see a lot of old F E ford performance parts that i played with in my teen years . And some neat old flat head pieces and parts . Now if i could just hit the lotto it would be a short sale.

he farmed lots acres, trucking grain, grain elevator, grain buyer.family issues now. or i should say still goes on. lots of it all sold now. no longer the talk of community he once was, they have all passed away now in that area. the big time boys that is.

Crazy Horse,

I want to run around with an air compressor and get all those partial-inflated tires up to snuff. I'd get to see it all for free!
