No SS for Bill

I was liking his new TV show "Training Day",,he was good in every show he was in..started out with "Emergency" ...

If Bill was married for 10 years his wife
can draw survivor benefits.

My oldest brother died one month after he
started drawing full benefits. He knew 5
years before he passed he hated terminal
cancer. He waited so his wife could draw
more of his survivor benefits.

(quoted from post at 13:22:08 02/26/17) Bill Paxton dead at 61...
elieve me, there are plenty of hands out there eager to suck up any $ available & they won't even thank him!

A good reason to go for social security as
soon as you can. I've known to many that
worried about how much they can make but
what happens especially seeing that we are
losing a gifted actor who never got the
chance.

Absolutely. Friend was a Vo-Ag teacher who died at the end of his retirement dinner. Bunch of us shook hands with him & left & he died a few minutes later, before the rest of the guests left. That was 50 years ago but that lesson stuck with me.

Many on YT think SS is just for them and they want their money NOW before they die.

There are many different strategies for waiting, one is passing on survivors benefits. Not sure what % survivors get and if survivor waits to draw at their full age what % they get.

Also, a stay at home wife who has never paid into SS, can draw 50% of spouses SS. SS benefits will increase 8% a year, spouse gets half so hers will increase by 4%, a total of 12% per year increase.

My broker is waiting until age 70 to draw $4000 a year and his wife will draw $2000 a month. He feels $6000 a month is worth waiting for.

Like I said, some want their money now before they die. Others want to retire in style.
