Looks like I get a day off in Des Moines tomorrow if anyone is close and wants to meet that would be great. Going to be at the Loves truck stop on the west side all day looks like. If you wouod like to get together for a chat my number is 320 492 9077.

If you could make it to the Loves on 34 mile marker (Shelby exit) I'll come get you & show you a bunch of CASE stuff. 402-681- 9551 Gerald

Thats a little too far away, sorry. But I'll keep that in mind if I get out that way. Isn't that the exit with the menards dc on it? I go there sometimes.

Yes it is. I'm the next exit west (Minden) keep my # & give me a call if you get this way. Gerald

That makes for a very long day, which is why I hope someone calls or msgs me. Lol. A sunday of law and order or csi reruns will be no fun for sure.

Lots going on at the fair grounds tomorrow. Large fishing swap meet, gals like the craft show, but almost clear across town from you. Gotta work though.

Sorry Jon,but I'm to far away.
If you ever get just North of the Boston area I;ll buy lunch.
You don't want to be in this area in the Spring if you can help it. "Pot Holes are everywhere".

Jon question: If you drop the trailer and use the truck to go some where for personal business like the fair grounds, during your 34 hour restart, does it stop the restart??? Also with your electronic logs do you have to be logged in to move the truck??? Friend drives for a company and the truck will not start without someone being logged on as the driver. They also have to have available hours or it will not move. He told me the system will detune the truck for fifteen minute if he goes over the 11 hours and at the end of the fifteen minutes it shuts down.

Jon, too bad you were not a day sooner. You could have gone to that Case meeting that was nearby. If I had my laptop with me today and I wasnt busy with tasks i could have met you in DSM and spent the day scrolling through Case and plowing videos and pictures. Actually this is one of the few times I dont have that darn laptop on me!

I can drive the truck on what is call "pc off duty" which is personal conveyance off duty. As long as I have at least 1 minute left on my logs I can switch to that and do stuff as long as I drop the trailer. I still have to stay within the 14 and 70 hour rules, but no hours acrue while driving. Dart allows us to drive as much as we want for that since we buy our own fuel. No the logs dont have to be logged in to move the truck, in fact there is a log out feature so that you can leave it for repairs ect and they can drive it without compromising the log. I suppose it is technically posible to detune and shut down a truck with log violations, but imagine the lawsuit when he gets caught on the road due to weather or a closed road for a accident and his truck shuts down on the road. I'm not buyin that. Dart expects a violation every week or so and they say nothing about it. Technically you could get a citation from the dot for it, but I've never heard of that unless they were just violating to get more miles or from poor planning.
